Benny Hope

Benny has been part of broadcast radio since the age of 13, winning multiple industry awards along the way.

 

Benny first started at Community Radio station 2MCE in his hometown of Bathurst at age 13 in the early 1990s. Benny developed of love of radio years before after hearing Doug Mulray on 2MMM FM 104.9 in Sydney in the school holidays. Fascinated by the humour and command Mulray had over his loyal audience it was pre-determined in his mind he wanted to get himself on the radio.

Benny was in high school when he started broadcasting on 2MCE and he presented many shifts in various formats, including Top 40, Requests, News services for the vision impaired, Outside Broadcasts and numerous fundraising radiothons.

In 1997 Benny had his first shift on Bathurst's only commercial FM station 99.3 B-Rock FM after hassling their night jock for months for a go. In 1998 Benny became the regular night host and station floater until landing in the breakfast role in the early 2000s.

Benny had a brief stint with Australia's largest telecommunications company before returning in early 2010 to his former role of Breakfast host. Benny moved away from commercial radio in July 2017 to pursue a career with NSW Government.
